About the role
The Access to Market Support Officer provides operational and coordination support to the Access to Market Lead across both individual and cluster-based market access workstreams. The role supports the delivery of market linkage activities, maintains partner and cluster databases, assists in participant engagement across both online and physical streams, and handles administrative and coordination functions that enable the market access strategy to operate at scale.
Responsibilities
- Support the planning and delivery of all market access activities including trade events, buyer-seller sessions, cluster linkage initiatives, and sector-specific market exposure activities.
- Coordinate logistics for market access events across both online and physical delivery channels including virtual sessions, physical trade fairs, and field visits.
- Maintain and regularly update databases of market access partners, buyers, e-commerce platforms, and commercial opportunities, disaggregated by sector cluster and delivery modality.
- Support the coordination of sector-based clusters, maintaining cluster contact lists, communicating market opportunities, and tracking cluster engagement and outcomes.
- Assist in the facilitation of market access training sessions under the direction of the Access to Market Lead, in both online and in-person formats.
- Liaise with both individual participants and cluster coordinators to communicate market opportunities, application processes, and linkage requirements.
- Assist in monitoring and documenting market access outcomes, collecting data from participants and clusters on new markets accessed, revenue generated, and commercial relationships established.
- Prepare draft activity reports, summaries, and database updates for review by the Access to Market Lead.
- Support any other market access coordination activities as assigned by the Access to Market Lead.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Business administration, Marketing, Economics, Development Studies, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3–5 years' experience in programme support, business development, or market development.
- Familiarity with at least one target sector (fashion, food, or agriculture) is an added advantage.
- Strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and comfort managing multiple workstreams simultaneously.
- Experience with data collection, database management, and basic reporting.
- Comfort with both online coordination tools and field-based coordination.
