Cook

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Cook to oversee daily food preparation and ensure that meals are prepared to a consistently high standard of taste, presentation, hygiene, and quality. The Cook will coordinate kitchen activities, managing ingredients, and ensuring efficient kitchen operations.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook meals according to approved recipes, and portion standards.
• Ensure consistency in the taste, quality, presentation, and portion sizes of all meals.
• Monitor food inventory and communicate ingredient requirements.
• Ensure proper storage, labeling, handling, and preservation of food items.
• Check the quality and freshness of ingredients before use.
• Minimize food waste through proper portion control, storage, and preparation techniques.
• Maintain high standards of kitchen cleanliness, sanitation, and personal hygiene.
• Ensure compliance with food safety and health regulations.
• Monitor cooking equipment and report faulty or damaged equipment promptly.
• Ensure food is prepared and served within the required timelines.
• Maintain accurate records where required, including food usage, wastage, and stock requirements.
• Perform other duties related to food preparation and kitchen operations as assigned.

Requirements

• Minimum of 3–5 years’ experience as a Cook
• Strong knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques, and food safety practices.
• Ability to prepare a variety of local and continental dishes.
• Good knowledge of portion control and kitchen cost management.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Good communication
• Physically fit and able to work for extended periods in a kitchen environment.
