Strategic Finance Lead

The Strategic Finance Lead will be responsible for setting the group's financial strategy, building a consolidated financial view across all entities, managing liabilities, validating margins, and supporting investor relations. This role is critical to ensuring that the Group CEO and Board have accurate, real-time financial insights to make informed decisions.

Responsibilities

• Set the group's financial strategy with the Group CEO, translating it into budgets, targets, and capital plans for each entity.
• Build a consolidated financial view across all entities, including rolling forecasts and cash-flow models.
• Take ownership of the group's debts and liabilities, establishing a complete register and shifting funding toward institutional financing.
• Validate margins and commercial terms before any mandate or trade transaction moves to execution.
• Support investor relations by preparing financial information, responding to due diligence, and reporting to shareholders.
• Produce monthly management accounts and a concise financial report for the Group CEO and Board.
• Design controls for a multi-entity, multi-jurisdiction group, including approval workflows and grant accounting.
• Lead and develop the Strategic Finance Officer and manage relationships with auditors, tax advisers, and banks.

Requirements

• Professional accounting or finance qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CFA or equivalent)
• Substantial experience in strategic finance, FP&A, or corporate finance
• Strong financial modeling skills
• Experience supporting a capital raise or investor due diligence
• Experience in a multi-entity or cross-border business
• Exposure to commodity trade, trade finance, or investment advisory is a strong advantage
• Confidence to communicate financial insights to leadership
• A builder's temperament: comfortable creating order where structure is still being formed
