Role Overview
The Area Sales Manager is responsible for driving sales numbers in line with the company's goals and strategies. This role involves identifying key potential customers, developing dealers and distributors, and building and leading the field sales force across the assigned territory to achieve individual and collective sales targets.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement effective sales strategies to achieve or exceed sales targets in the assigned area.
- Conduct market research to identify opportunities, trends, and potential challenges in the food industry.
- Recruit, train, and manage a high-performing sales team to ensure they meet individual and collective sales goals.
- Forecast sales volumes and revenue based on market analysis and historical data.
- Develop and manage the sales budget for the assigned area, ensuring efficient use of resources.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers, distributors, and retailers in the area.
- Identify and acquire new clients while ensuring the retention and satisfaction of existing clients.
- Plan and execute sales promotion activities, including discounts, special offers, and marketing campaigns.
- Maintain a deep understanding of the company's product line and keep the sales team updated on product features and benefits.
Requirements
- HND / BSc Degree in Business, Marketing, Sales, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in selling similar products in similar industry.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in driving sales and leading a team of 4 people minimum.
- Good presentation and writing skills.
- Willingness to drive numbers and eye for details.
- Excessive travelling is required in and around Nigeria/West Africa.
