About the role
Early Years Practitioner
The Early Years Practitioner will work full time on-site in Lagos State, Nigeria, supporting the care, learning, and development of children in the early years setting. Responsibilities include planning and delivering age-appropriate lessons and activities, facilitating play-based learning, and supporting children’s social, emotional, and cognitive development.
Responsibilities
- Planning and delivering age-appropriate lessons and activities
- Facilitating play-based learning
- Supporting children’s social, emotional, and cognitive development
- Observing and recording children’s progress
- Contributing to learning plans
- Ensuring all activities align with the school’s values and curriculum
- Creating a safe, clean, and welcoming classroom environment
- Managing routines such as meals and rest times
- Promoting positive behavior
- Communicating regularly with parents and guardians
- Collaborating with colleagues
- Participating in training and school events
Requirements
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively with children, families, and colleagues
- Knowledge of Early Childhood Development
- Experience working with children in an educational or childcare setting
- Creativity skills to design engaging, interactive, and play-based learning activities
- Organization skills to manage classroom routines, learning materials, and documentation of children’s progress
- Relevant qualifications in Early Childhood Education, Education, or a related field
- Ability to uphold and respect the school’s Christian ethos and values in daily practice
- Strong communication skills, patience, and a nurturing approach to child care and learning
