Credit Risk Analyst

The Credit Risk Analyst is responsible for assessing credit applications, conducting thorough financial analyses, and supporting sound credit decisions across the business. This role ensures all loans comply with internal policies and regulatory standards while identifying risk and providing actionable insights to loan officers.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct detailed credit analysis for new and existing loan applications, renewals, and relationship reviews
• Prepare financial spreads, risk reports, and credit summaries
• Identify and report policy exceptions and documentation deficiencies
• Ensure credit files are complete and compliant with internal lending guidelines
• Collaborate with loan officers to anticipate and gather required documentation
• Maintain deep knowledge of internal credit policies and industry standards
• Contribute to credit risk reporting and support follow-up actions

Requirements:

• A Bachelor’s degree or HND in Finance, Banking, Economics, Accounting, or related discipline
• Minimum of 3 years’ post-qualification experience in credit or financial analysis, preferably within a financial institution
• Professional certifications such as MCP, ACIB, or CRM is an advantage
• Proficient understanding of financial statements, credit risk, and lending processes
• Strong analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills with attention to detail
• Ability to work collaboratively across departments and diverse cultural environments
