Team Lead, Legal Services

Lead legal advisory and risk management across downstream, midstream, and upstream-related business operations. Draft, review, negotiate, and manage commercial agreements, provide legal support for trade transactions, ensure compliance with oil & gas regulatory requirements, and drive corporate governance.

Responsibilities

• Lead legal advisory and risk management across downstream, midstream, and upstream-related business operations
• Draft, review, negotiate, and manage commercial agreements including supply, marine, logistics, EPC, vendor, and partnership contracts
• Provide legal support for trade transactions, importation activities, LC documentation, and product supply arrangements
• Ensure compliance with oil & gas regulatory requirements, statutory obligations, licenses, and permits
• Manage relationships and engagements with regulators, government agencies, and external legal stakeholders
• Support retail expansion, depot operations, infrastructure projects, and strategic commercial initiatives from a legal perspective
• Oversee litigation, dispute resolution, debt recovery, and external counsel management
• Drive corporate governance, board documentation, and internal legal compliance processes
• Identify legal and commercial risks across operations and implement mitigating controls
• Provide legal guidance to management on operational, commercial, and strategic business decisions

Requirements

• 10 – 12 years’ experience in corporate/commercial legal practice within oil & gas, energy, maritime, trade, or structured business environments
• Strong experience in commercial contracts, regulatory compliance, and corporate governance
• Deep understanding of downstream operations, trade transactions, importation, depot operations, marine/shipping, and retail business structures
• Strong stakeholder management and negotiation skills
• Excellent legal drafting, analytical, and advisory capabilities
