Electrical Technician
The Electrical Technician will be responsible for the daily operation and maintenance of electrical power systems, ensuring the safe and efficient performance of substations, transformers, LV/MV breakers, motor starters, and variable frequency drives (VFDs). The role involves troubleshooting electrical faults, minimizing equipment downtime, interpreting technical drawings, maintaining power distribution equipment, preparing daily power and operational reports, and adhering to workplace safety standards.
Responsibilities
- Operate and monitor substations, transformers, and LV/MV breakers during daily shifts.
- Respond promptly to electrical faults and emergencies, diagnosing and resolving issues to minimize downtime.
- Read and interpret electrical blueprints and technical diagrams.
- Install, maintain, and troubleshoot motor starters (DOL and Star-Delta) and VFD systems.
- Maintain and inspect transformers, PCCs, MCCs, SDBs, and other electrical distribution equipment.
- Record daily power reports and equipment operational data.
- Ensure compliance with safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized work environment.
Requirements
- Must have relevant hands-on electrical experience working with Wärtsilä machines, including the operation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of Wärtsilä power generation equipment.
