Technical Drawing Educator

Wellspring College is seeking a dedicated Technical Drawing Educator to deliver high-quality instruction that develops learners' technical knowledge, spatial reasoning, creativity, precision, critical thinking and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver effective Technical Drawing lessons in accordance with the approved curriculum and College schemes of work.
• Demonstrate correct use of drawing instruments, materials and techniques.
• Develop learners’ ability to visualize three-dimensional objects and represent them accurately in two-dimensional form.
• Incorporate practical activities, demonstrations, projects and problem-solving tasks into lessons.
• Set, administer and mark classwork, assignments, practical exercises, projects, tests and examinations.
• Ensure that the Technical Drawing classroom/studio is organized, safe and conducive for learning.
• Build positive, respectful and professional relationships with learners.
• Participate actively in departmental meetings, staff meetings, training and professional development programmes.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Technical Education, Education Technology, Engineering, Architecture, Industrial Design or a closely related discipline.
• Relevant teaching qualification such as PGDE, NCE or equivalent professional teaching qualification, where applicable.
• Minimum of 4 years’ relevant experience teaching Technical Drawing, at secondary school level.
• Strong knowledge of the Nigerian secondary school curriculum and relevant examination requirements, particularly WAEC/NECO.
• Demonstrable competence in practical Technical Drawing and the use of standard drawing instruments.
