Tax Expert

Alert Group is seeking an experienced Tax Expert to provide strategic tax advisory and compliance support across the Group. The role involves managing tax compliance, filings, remittances, and statutory obligations while ensuring adherence to Nigerian tax laws and regulations.

Responsibilities • Manage tax compliance, filings, remittances, and statutory obligations across the Group. • Ensure compliance with applicable tax laws, regulations, and regulatory requirements. • Prepare and review tax computations, returns, schedules, and supporting documentation. • Provide tax advisory on business transactions, investments, contracts, and operational activities. • Liaise with FIRS, State Internal Revenue Services, and other relevant tax authorities. • Monitor changes in tax legislation and advise management on potential business implications. • Support tax audits, investigations, reconciliations, and resolution of tax queries. • Identify tax risks and recommend appropriate mitigation strategies. • Review tax-related processes and maintain accurate tax records and documentation. • Work closely with Finance, Legal, HR, and other business units on tax-related matters.

Requirements • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field. • Professional certification such as CITN, ICAN, ACCA, or equivalent is an advantage. • Minimum of 5 years' relevant tax experience, preferably within a financial services or corporate environment. • Strong knowledge of Nigerian tax laws, regulations, and compliance requirements. • Experience dealing with tax authorities and managing tax audits. • Strong analytical, communication, problem-solving, and reporting skills.
