Radiographer / Sonographer

A Radiographer / Sonographer is responsible for performing high-quality diagnostic imaging procedures, including general X-rays and ultrasound. They prepare patients, operate imaging equipment, and collaborate with healthcare professionals to support timely patient diagnosis and care.

Responsibilities

• Perform high-quality diagnostic imaging procedures, including general X-rays, ultrasound, and other routine radiographic examinations.
• Conduct and document routine ultrasound examinations.
• Prepare, identify, position, and reassure patients before and during imaging procedures.
• Operate, maintain, calibrate, and troubleshoot radiography and ultrasound equipment.
• Produce high-quality diagnostic images and provide accurate preliminary observations.
• Work collaboratively with radiologists, clinicians, and other healthcare professionals.
• Participate in quality control, audits, equipment maintenance, and continuous professional development.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in Radiography, Medical Imaging Science, or related field.
• Current registration and practising licence from the Radiographers Registration Board of Nigeria (RRBN).
• Minimum of 2 years’ post-qualification clinical experience in a hospital or diagnostic setting.
• Strong knowledge of radiation protection, infection prevention, and equipment safety.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, documentation, and patient-care skills.
