Accountant at Efficacy Construction Company

We are seeking a detail-oriented Accountant to manage financial records, prepare comprehensive financial reports, and ensure statutory compliance for our organization. You will play a key role in supporting management decision-making through accurate financial insights and excellent stakeholder service.

Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly management accounts including Balance Sheet, Profit & Loss Account, and Cash Flow Statements
• Maintain accurate financial records and analyze financial transactions with proper documentation
• Manage accounts receivable ledger, billing systems, and customer invoices
• Process and reconcile client receipts and customer accounts using SAGE Accounting Software
• Investigate and resolve payment discrepancies and customer inquiries
• Administer commission schedules, obtain approvals, and process commission payments
• Perform regular account reconciliations (customer, realtor, and general ledger accounts)
• Reconcile bank statements and maintain Fixed Asset Register
• Ensure compliance with statutory obligations, tax remittances, and regulatory requirements
• Support internal and external audits with required documentation
• Prepare weekly, monthly, quarterly, and ad hoc financial reports as required
• Contribute to departmental initiatives and continuous improvement activities

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field
• Minimum 3 years' experience as a financial accountant
• Professional certifications: ACCA or ACA (CFA is an advantage)
• Strong proficiency in SAGE Accounting Software and advanced Microsoft Excel skills
• Solid knowledge of Nigerian accounting regulations and practices
• In-depth understanding of bookkeeping procedures and accounting principles
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Strong attention to detail, analytical skills, and problem-solving ability
• Demonstrated integrity and confidentiality
