Head Accountant – Matrix Homes & Properties Limited

We are seeking an experienced Head Accountant to oversee all financial operations, ensure accurate reporting, and provide strategic financial leadership to our accounting team.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review financial statements in compliance with IFRS, statutory requirements, and Company policies
• Oversee general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, bank reconciliations, and month-end/year-end closing processes
• Monitor budgets, project costs, cash flow, and profitability; provide timely financial reports and variance analyses
• Manage tax compliance, statutory filings, and internal/external audits in accordance with regulatory and ISO 9001:2015 requirements
• Establish and maintain effective internal controls, accounting policies, and financial risk management systems
• Support procurement and project teams with financial evaluations, payment schedules, and cost control
• Lead, supervise, and mentor the accounting team while driving continuous improvement in financial processes

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• 4–7 years of accounting experience
• Strong knowledge of IFRS, Nigerian tax laws, and ISO 9001:2015 documentation requirements
• Proficiency in accounting software (Sage, QuickBooks, ERP systems) and MS Excel
• ACA/ICAN certification is an added advantage
