Generator Operator

Responsible for controlling and monitoring generators, distributing power, regulating output, and performing preventive maintenance and repairs. Requires technical expertise in electrical and mechanical systems.

Responsibilities

• Control and monitor generators, and auxiliary equipment.
• Distribute power among generators.
• Regulate output from generators.
• Operate generator panels.
• Perform preventive maintenance, commissioning, troubleshooting, and repair of generator systems.

Requirements

• Minimum of trade test 1-3 certification.
• 2+ years of experience as a generator operator in a facility management sector is preferred.
• Knowledge of AC / DC power.
• Service generators with oil changes.
• Must demonstrate technical knowledge of electrical generator systems and related engine mechanical failures.
• Ability to use specialized tools and follow documented procedures and policies to diagnose and complete repairs.
• Good observation skills.
• Very good organizational and communication skills.
