About the role
Green Africa is seeking a Customer Service Assistant to work at the Akure airport location, responsible for baggage handling, customer support, and ensuring smooth check-in operations.
Responsibilities
- Ensure accurate baggage weights are captured and processed at check-in desks
- Record and store unclaimed baggage in the arrival hall
- Assist customers with luggage and direct those with baggage irregularities to the Duty Officer
- Advise customers on excess baggage payment processing
- Tag baggage with destination details before conveying to Baggage Screening Point
- Inspect baggage condition and handle damaged bags per company policy
- Record and process company materials (COMATs) and RUSH bags for departing/arriving flights
- Identify and assist customers with special needs (wheelchair users, expectant mothers, infants, group travellers)
- Monitor check-in area to prevent unattended baggage and check for suspicious items
- Coordinate with check-in officers and turnaround coordinators to track baggage
Requirements
- OND/SSCE qualification
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
- High-level numeracy skills
- Strong attention to detail
