About the role

Green Africa is seeking a Customer Service Assistant to work at the Akure airport location, responsible for baggage handling, customer support, and ensuring smooth check-in operations.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure accurate baggage weights are captured and processed at check-in desks
  • Record and store unclaimed baggage in the arrival hall
  • Assist customers with luggage and direct those with baggage irregularities to the Duty Officer
  • Advise customers on excess baggage payment processing
  • Tag baggage with destination details before conveying to Baggage Screening Point
  • Inspect baggage condition and handle damaged bags per company policy
  • Record and process company materials (COMATs) and RUSH bags for departing/arriving flights
  • Identify and assist customers with special needs (wheelchair users, expectant mothers, infants, group travellers)
  • Monitor check-in area to prevent unattended baggage and check for suspicious items
  • Coordinate with check-in officers and turnaround coordinators to track baggage

Requirements

  • OND/SSCE qualification
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
