About the role
HR Officer
The HR Officer will support the day-to-day operations of the Human Resources function, including recruitment, employee onboarding, personnel documentation, employee engagement, attendance management, and general HR administration. The role requires a highly organized and people-oriented individual who can maintain confidentiality and effectively support both employees and management.
Responsibilities
- Support the recruitment process from job posting and candidate sourcing to interview coordination and selection.
- Screen CVs and assist with shortlisting qualified candidates.
- Schedule interviews and communicate with candidates throughout the recruitment process.
- Prepare onboarding documentation and coordinate the onboarding of new employees.
- Maintain an up-to-date employee and candidate database.
- Maintain accurate and confidential employee records and personnel files.
- Monitor employee attendance, leave, and other HR-related records.
- Prepare HR reports, letters, memos, and other employment documentation.
- Assist with the preparation and updating of HR policies and procedures.
- Support the administration of employee benefits and other HR processes.
- Serve as a point of contact for employees on routine HR-related matters.
- Support employee engagement and welfare initiatives.
- Assist in addressing employee concerns and escalate complex issues to management where necessary.
- Support disciplinary and performance management processes in line with company policies.
- Support performance appraisal and review processes.
- Assist in identifying training and development needs.
- Coordinate internal training sessions and maintain training records.
- Ensure HR activities are carried out in line with company policies and applicable employment regulations.
- Maintain confidentiality of employee information and sensitive HR matters.
- Assist with HR audits and statutory documentation when required.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree or HND in Human Resources, Industrial Relations, Psychology, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Professional HR certification such as CIPM, SHRM, or HRCI is an advantage.
- 1–3 years of experience in Human Resources or a related administrative role.
- Experience in recruitment and HR administration is preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent organizational and time-management abilities.
- Good knowledge of HR practices and processes.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
- Problem-solving and conflict-resolution skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Word and Excel.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
