About the role

HR Officer

The HR Officer will support the day-to-day operations of the Human Resources function, including recruitment, employee onboarding, personnel documentation, employee engagement, attendance management, and general HR administration. The role requires a highly organized and people-oriented individual who can maintain confidentiality and effectively support both employees and management.

Responsibilities

  • Support the recruitment process from job posting and candidate sourcing to interview coordination and selection.
  • Screen CVs and assist with shortlisting qualified candidates.
  • Schedule interviews and communicate with candidates throughout the recruitment process.
  • Prepare onboarding documentation and coordinate the onboarding of new employees.
  • Maintain an up-to-date employee and candidate database.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential employee records and personnel files.
  • Monitor employee attendance, leave, and other HR-related records.
  • Prepare HR reports, letters, memos, and other employment documentation.
  • Assist with the preparation and updating of HR policies and procedures.
  • Support the administration of employee benefits and other HR processes.
  • Serve as a point of contact for employees on routine HR-related matters.
  • Support employee engagement and welfare initiatives.
  • Assist in addressing employee concerns and escalate complex issues to management where necessary.
  • Support disciplinary and performance management processes in line with company policies.
  • Support performance appraisal and review processes.
  • Assist in identifying training and development needs.
  • Coordinate internal training sessions and maintain training records.
  • Ensure HR activities are carried out in line with company policies and applicable employment regulations.
  • Maintain confidentiality of employee information and sensitive HR matters.
  • Assist with HR audits and statutory documentation when required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or HND in Human Resources, Industrial Relations, Psychology, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Professional HR certification such as CIPM, SHRM, or HRCI is an advantage.
  • 1–3 years of experience in Human Resources or a related administrative role.
  • Experience in recruitment and HR administration is preferred.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management abilities.
  • Good knowledge of HR practices and processes.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
  • Problem-solving and conflict-resolution skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Word and Excel.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
