HSE & Dock Operations Officer

The HSE & Dock Operations Officer is responsible for implementing and enforcing all Health, Safety and Environmental policies across the floating dock, ship repair yard, fabrication workshop, and associated marine operations. This role combines practical field-based safety supervision with administrative responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Conduct daily safety inspections of floating dock, workshops, vessels, and work sites
• Ensure compliance with company HSE policies and statutory regulations
• Monitor and enforce PPE use and lead safety briefings
• Participate in risk assessments and Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs)
• Investigate incidents, near misses, unsafe acts and conditions
• Administer Permit-to-Work systems (Hot Work, Confined Space Entry, Work at Height, LOTO, Lifting Operations)
• Monitor docking/undocking activities and supervise vessel repairs and maintenance
• Supervise welding, cutting, grinding and fabrication activities
• Monitor safe use of cranes, forklifts and lifting equipment
• Act as a designated First Aider and coordinate emergency response
• Monitor waste segregation, proper handling of oils, chemicals and hazardous substances
• Maintain HSE records, prepare weekly/monthly HSE reports
• Track training records, certification validity, and permit registers

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree
• 3–5 years of relevant experience
• English language proficiency
• Mid-level experience

Salary

NGN 250,000 – 400,000 per month
