Accountant

Interdecima Systems Ltd is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accountant to join their Finance team. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, supporting financial reporting, ensuring statutory compliance, and managing day-to-day accounting operations.

Responsibilities

Financial Management & Reporting

• Prepare and maintain accurate financial records, including journals, ledgers, and reconciliations
• Produce monthly management accounts and support year-end financial statement preparation
• Assist with month-end and year-end closing activities
• Maintain the general ledger and ensure all transactions are accurately recorded

Bookkeeping & Transactions

• Process financial transactions using Sage and VT Transactions software
• Manage accounts payable and receivable functions
• Reconcile bank statements, supplier accounts, and customer accounts regularly
• Maintain accurate cash flow records and monitor financial movements

Tax & Compliance

• Ensure compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements
• Prepare and submit VAT returns and other statutory filings
• Support external accountants and auditors during audits and financial reviews
• Maintain proper documentation and audit trails for all financial activities

Payroll & Administrative Support

• Assist with payroll processing and pension submissions where required
• Support budgeting and expense monitoring activities
• Maintain organised financial records and filing systems

Process Improvement

• Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and financial controls
• Ensure accuracy, efficiency, and compliance across finance operations

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• Minimum of 3–5 years' accounting experience
• Strong hands-on experience with Sage Accounting Software and VT Transactions (essential)
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial reporting tools
• Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
• Strong understanding of bookkeeping principles and financial controls
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment

Preferred Skills

• ACA, ACCA, ICAN, AAT, or equivalent accounting qualification
• Experience preparing management accounts
• Knowledge of VAT and UK financial compliance requirements
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills

Salary

₦150,000 - ₦250,000 per month
