About the role
Sales Development Representative (SDR) Graduate Trainee
CloudPlexo is seeking an ambitious graduate to join their sales team as an SDR trainee in Lagos or Abuja. This entry-level role offers structured training in technology sales, with exposure to AWS, Microsoft, Cybersecurity, and AI solutions. You'll develop qualified leads, book meetings, and progress toward Account Executive or Solutions Sales roles.
Responsibilities
- Research and identify prospective clients using LinkedIn Sales Navigator, CRM platforms, and market databases
- Generate new business opportunities through outbound prospecting (cold calls, personalised emails, social selling)
- Qualify inbound leads from marketing campaigns, webinars, and events
- Book discovery meetings and product demonstrations for Account Executives and Solutions Consultants
- Learn and articulate CloudPlexo's value proposition across cloud, cybersecurity, and AI offerings
- Maintain accurate CRM records of all prospect interactions
- Collaborate with marketing on campaign feedback and messaging effectiveness
- Meet or exceed weekly and monthly targets for outreach, qualified leads, and booked meetings
- Stay informed on cloud, cybersecurity, and AI industry trends
- Participate fully in graduate training programme, including sales methodology workshops and technical courses
Requirements
Essential:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (recent graduate or final-year student)
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Confidence engaging with senior decision-makers
- Genuine interest in technology (cloud computing, cybersecurity, AI)
- Self-motivated and resilient; comfortable with rejection
- Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
- Coachable mindset and eagerness to learn
Desirable:
- Previous sales, customer service, telemarketing, or customer-facing experience (including internships)
- Familiarity with CRM tools (HubSpot, Salesforce)
- Basic understanding of AWS or Microsoft Azure
- LinkedIn and professional networking experience
