About the Role

We're seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to join our growing finance team in Lagos. This full-time hybrid role offers the opportunity to strengthen our finance function as we scale rapidly, managing high-transaction volumes and complex cash flow operations.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day cash and treasury operations, including daily bank account and payment channel reconciliation
• Prepare cash flow forecasts and manage liquidity
• Own accounts payable and receivable—process supplier and vendor payments, track amounts owed
• Maintain accurate books and records, including the general ledger and journal entries
• Support tax compliance (CIT, WHT, VAT, PAYE) and ensure timely remittance and filing with relevant authorities
• Comply with regulatory guidelines on pension deductions and remittance to PFAs
• Assist with monthly payroll runs
• Support period close activities and prepare schedules for management and external audit
• Apply and maintain financial controls and approval processes
• Identify and implement process improvements and automation to reduce manual work and tighten controls

Requirements

• 5+ years of Finance and Accounting experience
• Treasury and cash management experience (essential)
• Track record in a fast-paced, high-transaction-volume business (fintech, payments, e-commerce, gaming, FMCG, or similar)
• Professional qualification (ICAN, ACCA, ACA, or equivalent)
• Strong working knowledge of Nigerian tax and statutory regulations
• Advanced Excel skills and strong reconciliation abilities, comfortable with large transaction datasets
• Proactive problem solver with ability to improve and optimize work processes
• Excellent attention to detail; functions effectively under pressure with limited supervision

Nice to Have

• Experience in sports betting / gaming
• Proficiency in data analytics tools (e.g., Power BI, SQL, or equivalent)
• Exposure to high-velocity cash flow environments and real-time reconciliation at scale
• Familiarity with Nigerian payroll and statutory remittance processes
