Strategic Finance Officer

The Strategic Finance Officer will maintain accurate financial records, manage receivables and payables, and ensure audit-ready documentation for Welcome2Africa. This role is ideal for someone early in their finance career who wants to be part of building the group's finance function from the ground up.

Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate books and ledgers for each entity in the group.
• Conduct regular bank, cash, and inter-company reconciliations.
• Manage receivables by raising invoices and following up on collections.
• Handle payables by maintaining payment schedules and supplier records.
• Record costs and income against transactions to track margins.
• Track grant and donor-funded expenditures for reporting.
• Support budgeting and prepare management accounts.
• Ensure records are audit-ready and support statutory filings.

Requirements

• Degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
• Hands-on bookkeeping and reconciliation experience.
• Proficiency with accounting software and Excel.
• Attention to detail and persistence in resolving discrepancies.
• Discretion with confidential financial information.
• Curiosity about how the business operates.
