Senior Project Cost Estimator
The Senior Project Cost Estimator will be responsible for accurately estimating project costs, determining project budgets, and controlling project budgets while supporting decision-making by project stakeholders. This role involves developing cost control procedures, conducting cost analysis, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and ensuring budget alignment throughout the project lifecycle.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement cost control procedures and methodologies.
- Conduct variance analysis and prepare cost reports, forecasts, and performance analyses.
- Produce detailed cost estimates based on scope, specifications, and designs.
- Work closely with project managers, engineers, and procurement teams.
- Track and control costs against established budgets.
- Evaluate alternatives and propose cost-optimization solutions.
- Establish and update cost databases and methodologies.
- Identify risks impacting costs and develop contingency plans.
- Present assumptions, methodologies, and results clearly to stakeholders.
Requirements
- Minimum B.Sc. in Engineering or Quantity Surveying.
- MBA/Master’s degree is an added advantage.
- PMP, PRINCE II, or equivalent project management qualifications.
- SAP Project Systems proficiency.
- At least 15 years of experience as a Project Cost Estimator in the oil & gas industry.
- Strong knowledge of cost estimation methodologies and techniques.
- Proficiency in cost estimating software (e.g., CostX, WinEst, Timberline).
- Excellent analytical and mathematical skills.
- Solid understanding of project management principles and construction methods.
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
