Bank Accountant

Ascentech Services Limited is seeking a Bank Accountant to maintain accurate financial records, monitor banking transactions, prepare reconciliations, and support financial reporting activities.

Responsibilities

• Review and record daily bank transactions (deposits, withdrawals, transfers, journal entries)
• Perform bank reconciliations and match bank charges/interest with internal records
• Ensure compliance with banking regulations and internal control policies
• Prepare documents for bank credit requests and follow up on credit activation
• Monitor long-term loan balances, debit interest, and loan repayment installments
• Review and control bank charges and commissions against concluded contracts
• Initiate and register e-Form M on the Nigeria Single Window Trade Portal for import transactions
• Revalue open Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) balances in foreign currencies at month-end
• Calculate and record unrealized foreign exchange gains or losses in the General Ledger

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• 2–3 years of accounting experience
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and bank reconciliation processes
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and SAP
• Strong analytical thinking and attention to detail
• Excellent communication skills
• Proficiency in MS Windows, intermediate Excel and Word, basic PowerPoint
