About the role
Business Development Specialist
Drive high-volume diesel (AGO) sales growth across Nigeria by acquiring new clients and expanding relationships with existing customers. This role focuses on strategic B2B sales, large account acquisition, contract negotiations, and volume growth across industrial, commercial, and institutional customers.
Responsibilities
- Identify and secure high-volume diesel supply contracts across the country
- Develop strategic relationships with industrial, commercial, and institutional buyers
- Achieve aggressive monthly and annual sales volume targets
- Prospect and close new business opportunities; develop pipeline of large diesel consumers (10,000 L – 500,000 L+ monthly)
- Lead contract negotiations and pricing agreements
- Manage strategic accounts and ensure long-term supply contracts
- Increase client lifetime value through volume expansion
- Monitor pricing trends across depots and competitor activity
- Develop pricing strategies aligned with margin targets
- Collaborate with operations and logistics teams to ensure reliable delivery
- Ensure timely customer payments and maintain cash flow discipline
Typical client segments: Manufacturing companies, Telecom tower operators, Hospitals and healthcare facilities, Hotels and hospitality chains, Construction companies, Logistics and transport firms, Large residential estates, Government agencies, Data centres and technology firms.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, engineering, or related field
- 3–4 years total experience with minimum 1 year specific to diesel sales
- Proven track record of closing high-volume diesel contracts
- Strong relationships with major diesel-consuming sectors in Nigeria
- Experience working with fuel marketers, distributors, or energy companies
- Strong negotiation ability and relationship-building skills
- High commercial acumen and results-driven mindset
Salary
NGN 350,000 monthly net + Commission
