The Ambulance/Hospital Driver will be responsible for operating hospital vehicles safely while ensuring patients, staff, medical equipment, and supplies reach their destinations promptly. This role demands a high level of responsibility because transportation within the healthcare system often involves emergency situations where every minute counts.

Responsibilities

• Transport hospital staff to assigned locations when necessary.
• Drive ambulances and other hospital vehicles safely.
• Transport medical equipment and essential hospital supplies.
• Ensure vehicles remain clean and presentable at all times.
• Monitor fuel levels and arrange timely refuelling.
• Perform routine vehicle inspections before and after trips.
• Report mechanical faults promptly for repairs.
• Assist medical personnel during patient transportation whenever required.
• Ensure patients are transported safely and comfortably.
• Observe all traffic laws and safety regulations.
• Maintain accurate vehicle movement records when required.
• Respond professionally during emergency situations.
• Protect hospital property while carrying out official duties.

Requirements

• Valid Driver’s Licence (mandatory)
• Proven experience operating vehicles safely and responsibly
• Good knowledge of road networks in Port Harcourt and surrounding areas
