About the role
Channel Territory Sales Manager
FrieslandCampina is seeking a Channel Territory Sales Manager to drive regional sales performance and customer development across assigned territories in Nigeria.
Responsibilities
- Manage sales activities across channels within the region and oversee day-to-day business activities of Key Business Partners
- Prepare and implement regional business plans aligned with company vision and targets; create joint business plans with customers
- Supervise field sales force; provide coaching, mentoring, and performance feedback to achieve sales targets
- Manage distributor relationships, ensuring compliance with company standards (warehousing, financial health, sales effectiveness)
- Monitor market developments, competitor activities, and identify new business growth opportunities
- Conduct regular retail and market audits to ensure optimal service levels and promotional execution
- Manage credit risk and recommend proactive actions to prevent bad debts
- Provide weekly reporting on distributor stock, secondary sales, market audits, and value chain metrics
- Lead process improvements by analyzing bottlenecks in current operations
- Utilize digital tools and business analytics to drive commercial efficiency and provide market insights
- Manage team appointments, appraisals, and professional development
- Build and maintain stakeholder and partner relationships
Requirements
- Proven sales management experience in a regional/territory capacity
- Strong leadership and team coaching abilities
- Proficiency in sales planning, distributor management, and field force supervision
- Ability to analyze market trends and competitor activities
- Digital literacy and capability with business analytics tools
- Sound financial and credit risk management skills
- Excellent reporting and communication abilities
- Knowledge of retail operations and sales execution best practices
