Accountant

CyberCollect Limited, a professional debt collection agency, is seeking an experienced Accountant to manage financial records, banking operations, and regulatory compliance in Lagos.

Responsibilities

• Maintain comprehensive accounting records (income, expenses, fixed assets, inventory)
• Review and process source documents (invoices, receipts, delivery notes, waybills)
• Execute banking operations and payments via internet banking platforms
• Monitor transaction accuracy in the accounting system
• Prepare accounting, tax, and management reports for internal and external stakeholders
• Reconcile settlements with counterparties and perform bank account reconciliations
• Liaise with banks, tax authorities (FIRS, LIRS), and auditors
• Participate in month-end and year-end closing procedures
• Ensure compliance with internal financial policies and company regulations
• Process and post source documents, invoices, and credit notes
• Record VAT, Withholding Tax (WHT), and Company Income Tax (CIT)

Requirements

• B.Sc Degree with 6 years of work experience
• Professional certification (ICAN, ACA, ACCA, or partial completion) is a strong advantage
• Deep knowledge of Nigerian accounting system and financial reporting (IFRS as adopted in Nigeria)
• Expertise in Nigerian tax legislation: VAT, WHT, PAYE, CIT, and statutory levies
• Understanding of regulatory framework: CAMA 2020, FIRS guidelines, state tax authority rules (e.g., LIRS)
• Knowledge of CAC reporting requirements and annual returns filing
• Familiarity with Financial Reporting Council of Nigeria (FRC) audit standards
• Proficiency in accounting software (Sage, QuickBooks, Zoho Books, or similar)
• Advanced Excel skills
• Experience with source document processing and Nigerian bank internet banking systems

Nice to Have

• Experience in fintech, IT, microfinance institutions, or banking in Nigeria
• Understanding of CBN licensing and reporting requirements
• Experience managing multiple legal entities
• Knowledge of accounting process automation
• Familiarity with FIRS electronic reporting portal (TaxPro Max)
