Experienced Accountant

Role Overview

An experienced accountant is needed to manage the hotel's accounting operations, financial reporting, and controls.

Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly management accounts, financial statements, budgets, and cash-flow forecasts.
• Reconcile bank accounts, guest ledgers, supplier accounts, and daily revenue from rooms, food, beverages, and other hotel services.
• Oversee accounts payable, receivables, payroll accounting, and month-end closing.
• Monitor operating costs, inventory values, and departmental budget variances.
• Coordinate tax and statutory remittances, support external audits, and maintain complete supporting documentation.
• Strengthen internal controls and supervise junior accounting staff.

Requirements

• BSc or HND in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
• At least 5 years of relevant accounting experience, including experience in a hotel or hospitality business.
• ICAN or ACCA qualification is an advantage.
• Proficiency in accounting software, Microsoft Excel, and hotel property management or point-of-sale systems.
• Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, integrity, and ability to meet reporting deadlines.
