Fiber Technician

Overview

Brainshare is seeking a skilled Fiber Technician to manage fiber optic infrastructure projects, ensure network reliability, and provide technical support. You will oversee contractor teams, conduct site inspections, troubleshoot fiber issues, and maintain customer communication throughout project delivery.

Responsibilities

• Manage contractors and supervise fiber projects to ensure on-time, on-budget delivery
• Conduct routine site inspections, clear snags, and maintain As-Built documentation
• Activate new fiber circuits/links and ensure quality compliance
• Troubleshoot fiber issues with priority; identify root causes and communicate ETR to support teams
• Perform technical site surveys and submit reports to Account Holders and Project Leads
• Splice and troubleshoot optic fiber cables using networking tools
• Identify and mitigate network anomalies to ensure stable, reliable services
• Provide customer technical support via phone, email, or chat
• Coordinate with BBC and Brainshare teams on link outage restoration
• Support D2D infrastructure maintenance
• Manage project supply requisitions and inventory
• Complete additional tasks as assigned by management

Requirements

Education & Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Electrical Engineering
• Excellent analytical and presentation skills
• In-depth understanding of fiber optic deployment
• Strong written and verbal communication skills

Experience:

• Minimum 2 years of cognate experience in optic fiber networking with a telecom/ISP organization
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Willingness to work long hours and meet tight deadlines
• Flexibility to work weekends and shifts
