Senior Accountant

Amadeus University Amizi is seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to manage financial records, ensure regulatory compliance, and support sound financial governance across the institution.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review financial statements, management accounts, and periodic financial reports
• Oversee maintenance of the general ledger and ensure accuracy of all accounting entries
• Manage payroll processing, payments, and reconciliations
• Ensure compliance with financial regulations, tax obligations, and institutional accounting policies
• Coordinate annual budget preparation and monitor budget performance
• Assist in management of internal and external audits; liaise with auditors
• Review and approve financial transactions in accordance with financial control framework
• Supervise and mentor junior accounting staff
• Provide financial analysis and advisory support to management
• Maintain proper documentation of all financial transactions

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree in Accounting from a recognised university
• Professional accounting qualification: ACCA, ACA (ICAEW), ICAN, or ANAN
• Minimum 5 years relevant post-qualification work experience in accounting or finance
• NYSC discharge, exemption, or exclusion certificate (mandatory)
• Computer literacy and proficiency in accounting software (Sage, QuickBooks, or similar ERP systems)
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
• Strong analytical, numerical, and problem-solving skills
• High level of integrity, confidentiality, and professional ethics
