About the role
Professor
The Professor at the American University of Nigeria School of Information Technology and Computing is responsible for teaching, research, and community service. The role involves preparing students to be applied and practical, critical thinkers and problem solvers.
Responsibilities:
- Teaching and supporting student learning both inside and outside the classroom
- Ensuring class attendance and completing required assignments
- Providing academic advising to students
- Attending department/school meetings and academic functions
- Engaging in research activities
- Contributing to AUN community service and development activities
Requirements:
- Ph.D. in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, Software Engineering, or Cybersecurity from a reputable university
- Minimum of twelve (12) years of university teaching, research, postdoctoral, or relevant industry experience post-PhD
- Demonstrated leadership in university governance, curriculum development, and faculty mentorship
- Internationally recognized record of excellence in scholarship, teaching, research, and academic leadership
- Extensive experience in supervising undergraduate, master's, and PhD students
- Proficiency in use of ICT tools and e-resources for teaching and research
- Verifiable evidence of scholarly publications in reputable journals
Salary: Salary and benefits are commensurate with experience and job classification as approved by the University.
