Job Reference: ISACCT202607 Job Summary We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Inventory/Stock Accountant to oversee inventory accounting, stock reconciliations, cost control, and inventory reporting. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy of inventory records, monitoring stock movements, supporting periodic stock counts, and maintaining strong internal controls over inventory management. Key Responsibilities Monitor and account for all inventory transactions across warehouses, stores, and production facilities. Ensure accurate recording of stock receipts, issues, transfers, adjustments, and returns within the ERP system. Perform daily, weekly, and monthly inventory reconciliations between physical stock and accounting records. Investigate and resolve inventory variances, discrepancies, and stock losses. Prepare inventory valuation reports and analyze stock movements. Maintain accurate records of raw materials, work-in-progress, finished goods, and consumables. Review and validate Goods Received Notes (GRNs), stock transfer notes, and inventory adjustment requests. Participate in periodic stock counts and annual physical inventory exercises. Coordinate with warehouse, production, procurement, and finance teams to ensure inventory accuracy. Monitor inventory ageing and identify slow-moving, obsolete, or damaged stock. Support month-end and year-end closing activities related to inventory accounting. Ensure compliance with company policies, internal controls, and accounting standards. Assist internal and external auditors by providing inventory-related schedules and supporting documentation. Generate inventory performance reports and provide recommendations for improved stock management and cost control. Qualifications and Experience Bachelor's Degree or HND in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related discipline. Professional accounting qualification (ICAN, ACCA, ACA, or equivalent) will be an added advantage. 3–5 years' experience in inventory accounting, stock control, or cost accounting. Experience in poultry, feed mill, agriculture, manufacturing, FMCG, or distribution industries is highly preferred. Strong understanding of inventory management principles and stock valuation methods. Hands-on experience with ERP systems and inventory management modules. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software.
