About the role
We are seeking a driven and results-orientated Sales/Business Development Officer to identify new business opportunities, build client relationships, and drive revenue growth. You will be the face of the company to prospects, turning leads into long-term customers.
Responsibilities:
- Research and identify new business opportunities through cold calling, networking, referrals, social media, and market research
- Build and maintain strong relationships with new and existing clients to ensure retention and upsell opportunities
- Prepare and deliver compelling proposals, presentations, and product demonstrations tailored to client needs
- Negotiate terms, pricing, and contracts to close deals while achieving company targets
- Monitor industry trends, competitor activities, and customer feedback to identify new markets and product improvements
- Manage sales pipeline using CRM tools, track progress, and provide accurate sales forecasts
- Work with marketing, operations, and technical teams to ensure client requirements are met
- Submit weekly/monthly reports on sales activity, revenue, and KPIs to management
Requirements:
- HND in Business Administration, Marketing, Engineering, or related field
- Minimum 2 years experience in sales, business development, or B2B client-facing role, preferably in engineering
- Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills
- Strong networking and relationship-building ability
- Target-driven with proven record of meeting/exceeding sales quotas
- Proficient in MS Office and CRM software (HubSpot, Zoho, or Salesforce)
- Self-motivated, confident, and able to work with minimal supervision
- Willingness to travel for client meetings
- Valid driver's licence (preferred)
