Fleet Supervisor

A growing agribusiness company in Igbariam, Anambra State, is seeking an experienced and highly organised Fleet Supervisor to coordinate its fleet operations. The role involves overseeing vehicle scheduling, preventive maintenance, fuel management, driver performance, and regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise the daily operations of the company’s fleet and assigned drivers.
  • Plan and coordinate vehicle schedules to support operational and logistics requirements.
  • Develop and monitor preventive maintenance schedules for all vehicles.
  • Coordinate vehicle inspections, servicing and repairs to minimise downtime.
  • Monitor fuel consumption, investigate irregularities and implement appropriate fuel-control measures.
  • Track vehicle usage, mileage, maintenance costs and overall fleet performance.
  • Monitor driver conduct, attendance and performance.
  • Ensure drivers comply with company policies, road-safety regulations and approved routes.
  • Optimise routes to improve delivery timelines, fuel efficiency and vehicle utilisation.
  • Verify vehicle documents, licences, insurance and other regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain accurate records of vehicle allocation, fuel usage, repairs, incidents and compliance.
  • Investigate accidents, breakdowns and vehicle-related incidents and submit appropriate reports.
  • Prepare periodic fleet-performance and cost reports for management.
  • Recommend improvements that enhance fleet safety, reliability and cost efficiency.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Transport Management, Logistics, Supply Chain Management or a related discipline.
  • 5–7 years of relevant experience in fleet operations, transport coordination or logistics management.
  • Practical experience in vehicle maintenance coordination, fuel management and driver supervision.
  • Good knowledge of route planning, fleet utilisation and road-safety requirements.
  • Ability to maintain accurate fleet records and prepare analytical reports.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other relevant fleet-management or reporting tools.
  • Strong leadership, communication, planning and problem-solving skills.
  • High levels of integrity, accountability and attention to detail.
  • Ability to respond effectively to breakdowns, emergencies and changing operational requirements.
  • Willingness to work onsite and reside in or relocate to Igbariam, Anambra State.
  • Certification in Fleet Management, Logistics or Road Safety will be an added advantage.
