About the role
Driver – Lagos Business School
Provide safe, reliable, and timely transportation for staff, visitors, and official guests in support of the School's operations. Ensure assigned vehicles are clean, roadworthy, and properly maintained through routine inspections and preventive maintenance.
Responsibilities
- Ensure timely conveyance of staff and business partners to and from assigned locations
- Keep vehicles clean (inside and outside) and perform routine checks
- Recognize and report electrical and mechanical faults
- Perform periodic maintenance (tire checks, battery/oil changes, refueling)
- Report accidents, injuries, or vehicle damage promptly and complete incident forms
- Maintain all records including maintenance receipts and movement logs
- Pay tolls, parking fees, and other vehicle expenses
- Use navigation applications (Google Maps) to determine optimal routes
- Dress professionally in accordance with school dress code
- Ensure vehicle is fueled and ready for use at all times
- Follow traffic laws and drive defensively
- Adjust routes to avoid congestion or construction
- Park in permitted areas only
- Keep mileage and repair records up to date
Requirements
- Valid driver's licence
- Senior Secondary School Certificate (SSCE) or equivalent
- At least 5 years' relevant driving experience, preferably in a corporate or institutional environment
- Excellent driving and interpersonal skills
- Strong commitment to safety, professionalism, and customer service
- Ability to drive defensively
- Basic computer/Microsoft Suite knowledge
- Ability to use GPS/navigational tools (Google Maps)
- Professional demeanor and customer service orientation
- Self-motivated with commitment to continuous improvement
Preferred:
- Certificate in Defensive Driving or Road Safety
