About the role
Role Overview
Millies British International School (MBIS) is seeking experienced and committed Female Nursery Educators to join their Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) team. The role involves supporting and extending the learning of children through high-quality teaching, play-based learning, and nurturing care.
Responsibilities
- Support and extend the learning of children through high-quality teaching and play-based learning
- Create and maintain stimulating classroom displays
- Design and maintain vibrant indoor and outdoor learning environments
- Promote emotional, social, and educational development
- Ensure safeguarding and child protection principles are followed
Requirements
- Must reside in Ibadan, within reasonable commuting distance of Jericho, Ibadan
- Minimum academic qualification of B.Ed., B.A., B.Sc., HND, or PGDE in Early Childhood Education, English from a recognised institution
- Minimum of 3 years post-qualification experience in a similar role
- Ability to teach phonics or willingness to be trained in phonics instruction
- Competence in teaching early mathematics and literacy with developmentally appropriate strategies
- Experience in supporting handwriting development in young learners
- Possession of creative teaching skills such as music, dance, drama, and arts & crafts
- Excellent English language skills (written, spoken, and reading)
- Proficient in basic computer applications
- Strong classroom management and effective teaching skills
- Ability to engage and motivate young learners through play-based learning
- Enthusiastic, innovative, and dynamic in delivering lesson plans
- Ability to design and maintain stimulating classroom displays
- Capable of creating vibrant indoor and outdoor learning environments
- Sound understanding of safeguarding principles
- Demonstrates consistently high standards of personal and professional conduct
- Positive attitude, patience, good sense of humour, and energy required to work effectively with young children
