Backend Developer (Java)

Tezza Business Solutions Ltd is seeking an experienced Backend Developer to design, build, and maintain scalable, high-performance backend systems using Java and microservices architecture.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain backend services and APIs using Java frameworks (Spring Boot, Hibernate, etc.)
• Architect and implement scalable microservices supporting business applications and integrations
• Optimize system performance for high availability, scalability, and security
• Collaborate with frontend developers, DevOps engineers, and product managers on end-to-end solutions
• Implement and optimize SQL and NoSQL database solutions
• Integrate external systems and third-party APIs securely and efficiently
• Participate in code reviews and maintain high code quality standards
• Troubleshoot production issues and perform root cause analysis
• Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and automated testing frameworks
• Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
• 7–10 years of professional backend development experience with Java
• Strong expertise with Spring Framework (Spring Boot, Spring Security, Spring Cloud)
• Proven experience building and deploying microservices architectures
• Proficiency in RESTful API design and development
• Experience with MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, and Redis
• Solid understanding of software design patterns, data structures, and algorithms
• Hands-on experience with Docker and Kubernetes
• Familiarity with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab CI, CircleCI) and Git
• Strong debugging, performance tuning, and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and collaboration abilities
• Ability to mentor junior engineers and review peer code

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP cloud platforms
• Knowledge of message brokers (Kafka, RabbitMQ, ActiveMQ)
• Familiarity with API gateways and authentication protocols (OAuth2, JWT)
• Test-driven development (TDD) and automated testing frameworks (JUnit, Mockito)
• DevOps principles and infrastructure-as-code tools (Terraform, Ansible)
• Open-source project contributions
