Mechanic / Bobcat Driver

Flour Mills of Nigeria Plc is seeking a skilled Mechanic/Bobcat Driver to support maintenance and operations at Golden Penny Foods – Nigerian Eagle Flour Mills.

You will operate Bobcat equipment, perform machinery maintenance and repairs, and ensure safe, continuous production and depot operations.

Responsibilities

• Operate Bobcat equipment safely and efficiently for site operations and material handling
• Perform breakdown repairs on mechanical equipment to minimize downtime
• Carry out routine maintenance on machinery in silo, production, and seaside operational areas
• Test run and inspect conveyor belts, elevators, and related systems
• Fabricate and repair machine parts to support maintenance and operational continuity
• Communicate equipment faults and mechanical issues to the Site Engineer promptly
• Implement preventive maintenance measures to reduce breakdowns
• Maintain accurate records of machine service history and maintenance activities
• Ensure compliance with HSE and food safety requirements during all operations
• Support housekeeping, hygiene, and safe working practices

Requirements

• Minimum SSCE with 5 O'Level credits (including Mathematics and English), NABTEB, or Trade Test I–III in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline
• Minimum 2 years of cognate experience in mechanical maintenance or equipment operation
• Skilled in mechanical maintenance and basic fabrication techniques
• Competent in operating Bobcat or similar heavy-duty equipment
• Strong awareness of workplace safety and operational hazards
• Ability to troubleshoot and perform basic repairs on industrial machinery
