About the role

Customer Service Assistant – Delta

Green Africa is seeking a Customer Service Assistant to support baggage handling and customer assistance operations at the airport in Delta.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure accurate weights of baggage at check-in desks are captured and processed
  • Record and store unclaimed Green Africa tagged baggage at the Arrival hall
  • Assist customers with luggage and direct those with baggage irregularities (lost or damaged) to the Duty Officer
  • Advise and assist customers on processing payment for excess baggage
  • Ensure baggage is properly tagged with destination details before transfer to Baggage Screening Point
  • Inspect baggage condition before acceptance; handle damaged bags in accordance with Green Africa policy
  • Record and process Company Materials (COMATs) and RUSH bags for departing or arriving flights
  • Promptly identify and assist customers with special needs (wheelchair users, expectant mothers, mothers with infants, group travellers) before check-in
  • Prevent unattended baggage in check-in areas; check for suspicious baggage and adhere to security and weight limit procedures
  • Coordinate with Check-in Officers and Turnaround Coordinators to track unloaded baggage
