R&A Technician

Responsible for the installation, maintenance and repair of all refrigeration and air conditioning facilities. This role ensures optimal hatchery conditions through the proper functioning of HVAC, cold rooms, and incubators.

Responsibilities

• Install, inspect, maintain, and repair refrigeration and air conditioning systems in hatchery and production facilities.
• Perform preventive maintenance on incubators, cold rooms, ventilation, and HVAC systems.
• Monitor and adjust temperature, humidity, and air quality to maintain optimal hatchery conditions.
• Troubleshoot faults, replace defective components, and restore system functionality.
• Ensure compliance with manufacturer specifications, SOPS, and safety standards.
• Maintain accurate service and maintenance records.
• Coordinate with hatchery supervisors to support ideal conditions for embryo and chick health.
• Calibrate environmental sensors and train staff on system care and safety procedures.

Requirements

• Trade Test 1/11/111, OND, or Technical Certification in Refrigeration and Air Conditioning or Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum of 2–4 years' experience in a similar role, preferably in agro-processing, poultry, or food industries.
• Strong knowledge of refrigeration cycles, HVAC systems, and cold room management.
• Skilled in troubleshooting and use of diagnostic tools.
