Junior Accountant
CCETC Ogua Energy Limited is seeking a motivated and qualified individual to join their team as a Junior Accountant. The role involves managing all accounting transactions, maintaining accounting procedures, and ensuring compliance with IFRS in the presentation of statutory reports.
Responsibilities
- Manage all accounting transactions
- Maintain and oversee accounting procedures and processes and ensure compliance with IFRS
- Ensure timely bank payments
- Take responsibility for budgetary controls and forecast preparation
- Compute taxes, audit and prepare tax returns
- File tax returns and process tax clearance
- Audit financial transactions and record
- Research and proffer more efficient reporting methods
- Develop and maintain financial database
- Liaise with tax consultants, auditors, and other regulators
- Advise management on financial health of the company
- Liaise with other personnel in the finance & accounting department
Requirements
- A university degree in accounting (B.Sc. Accounting/HND), minimum grade is Second Class, upper Division
- An MBA in financial management or accounting will be an added advantage
- Minimum post NYSC work experience of 5 years with at least 2 years in a similar role (accountant)
- Work experience in the power industry will be an added advantage
- Must be IFRS compliant
- Minimum of 5 years working experience covering PAYE, tax computation, audit, filing, account payables and receivables, bank reconciliation statements, preparation of financial statements, P&L accounting, payroll, management accounting
- Must be between the ages of 30-40 years old
