About the role

Deputy Head, Human Resources

The Label Stores is hiring a Deputy Head of Human Resources to support HR strategy development and implementation across the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Head of HR in developing and implementing HR strategies, policies, and initiatives aligned with business objectives
  • Oversee recruitment, selection, onboarding, and workforce planning
  • Coordinate performance management processes and provide guidance to managers
  • Lead employee relations activities, including grievance handling, disciplinary procedures, and conflict resolution
  • Monitor staff attendance, productivity, and compliance with organizational policies
  • Coordinate learning and development initiatives
  • Support succession planning, talent management, and leadership development
  • Ensure compliance with statutory employment regulations and internal HR policies
  • Prepare HR reports, workforce analytics, and strategic recommendations
  • Collaborate with Operations, Finance, Audit, and other departments
  • Drive employee engagement initiatives and promote positive work culture
  • Supervise the HR team and provide coaching and mentoring
  • Perform other HR-related responsibilities as assigned

Requirements

  • Minimum 8–10 years' experience in Human Resources, with at least 5 years in a senior HR management position in retail, FMCG, banking, hospitality, or similar structured organization
  • B.Sc./HND in Human Resources Management, Industrial Relations, Business Administration, Psychology, or related discipline
  • Strong knowledge of Nigerian Labour Laws, HR best practices, and employment regulations
  • Demonstrated experience in recruitment and selection, performance management, employee engagement, compensation and benefits administration, disciplinary procedures, and organizational development
  • Excellent leadership, coaching, conflict resolution, and people management skills
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills
  • High level of integrity, confidentiality, and professionalism
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and HRIS

Nice to Have

  • Professional certifications such as CIPM, SHRM, HRCI, or CIPD

Salary

N300,000 – N400,000 per month
