Crewing Officer
Banarly Nigeria Ltd. is recruiting a Crewing Officer to manage vessel staffing, crew administration, and maritime compliance in Lagos.
The Crewing Officer ensures vessels are manned with qualified, competent personnel in accordance with company and regulatory requirements. This is a full-time, office-based role in the maritime/shipping sector.
Responsibilities
- Recruit, screen, and coordinate suitable crew members for company vessels
- Maintain an updated database of crew members and potential candidates
- Coordinate crew changes, mobilisation, and demobilisation
- Monitor staffing levels and ensure adequate vessel manning
- Liaise with recruitment agencies and external partners
- Ensure all crew members possess valid documentation (seaman's books, certificates of competency, medical certificates, visas, permits)
- Maintain familiarity with maritime regulations and labour requirements
- Monitor certificate validity and arrange renewals
- Develop and establish training programs for crew members
- Identify competency gaps and coordinate internal/external training
- Track crew performance and maintain appraisal records
- Support promotion and succession planning
- Prepare reports on crew status, training progress, recruitment activities, and manpower requirements
- Maintain accurate personnel records and documentation
- Serve as point of contact between vessel personnel, management, operations, and external agencies
- Resolve crew-related issues professionally and efficiently
Requirements
Education: Bachelor's degree or HND in Human Resources, Maritime Studies, Business Administration, Marine Operations, or related field
Experience: 4 years in crewing, marine HR, or maritime operations; experience in fishing, shipping, offshore, or marine operations preferred
Technical Skills:
- Advanced Microsoft Excel (advanced functions, reporting, data analysis)
- Microsoft Word, email systems, document management
- ERP/HR or crewing management software
- Strong computer skills

Salary
NGN 400,000 – 600,000 per month
