Account Officer

Benin Medical Care is seeking an Account Officer to manage day-to-day financial transactions and ensure accurate record-keeping. The role involves reconciling accounts, preparing reports, and supporting the finance team.

Responsibilities

• Record day-to-day financial transactions and complete the posting process
• Verify that transactions are recorded in the correct day book, suppliers ledger, customer ledger, and general ledger
• Prepare periodic reports for the Head of Finance and Accounts
• Reconcile sales taxes, payroll taxes, and bank accounts at the end of each month
• Manage petty cash and disbursements
• Monitor financial transactions and reports
• Understand ledgers and bring the books to the trial balance stage
• Perform partial checks of the posting process
• Complete tax forms
• Process accounts receivable/payable and handle payroll in a timely manner

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related discipline
• Professional certification (ACA, ACCA, ICAN, ANAN, or equivalent) is an added advantage
• Minimum of 3–5 years' relevant experience in finance or accounting
• Experience in a healthcare organization is an added advantage
• Good knowledge of accounting software and ERP systems
