About the role
HR Officer – Port Harcourt
We are seeking an experienced HR Officer to manage talent acquisition, employee development, compliance, and facility operations in our Port Harcourt office.
Responsibilities
HR & Talent Management
- Deliver accurate, efficient, and cost-effective HR/Admin services to management and staff
- Oversee HR data management with compliance to data protection policies
- Administer recruitment tests, conduct interviews, and manage induction processes
- Develop and maintain a high-performance culture through recognition and reward programs
- Lead capability development, cultural initiatives, and organizational change
- Drive talent acquisition strategies and manage succession planning and workforce restructuring
Performance & Employee Development
- Conduct performance reviews and analyze staff performance against KPIs
- Develop and implement staff motivational schemes, awards, and welfare initiatives
- Oversee relationships with HMOs and Pension Fund Administrators
- Organize training and development programs
Compliance & Administrative Oversight
- Maintain and update accurate staff records for compliance purposes
- Enforce disciplinary procedures and manage staff exit processes
- Ensure company facilities meet health, safety, and environmental standards
- Handle regulatory compliance including FZL renewals, expatriate quotas, and CERPAC processing
- Prepare and manage SLAs and third-party service contracts
Facilities & Document Management
- Safeguard company documents and maintain security protocols
- Maintain registers of all company properties
- Monitor office supplies and work tools
- Perform routine facility inspections
Key Performance Indicators
- Maintain annual staff turnover rate below 10%
- Ensure zero tolerance for bias in disciplinary actions and compensation
- Prevent operational disruptions due to strikes or lockouts
- Achieve 100% staff leave planning compliance
- Conduct monthly facility inspections
- Renew all group health insurance schemes before expiration
- Ensure 100% QHSSE (Quality, Health, Safety, Security, Environment) compliance
- Achieve at least 90% staff participation in annual training programs
- Fill vacancies within 30 days for non-executive roles and 60 days for executive positions
- Maintain an employee satisfaction score of at least 80%
Requirements
- BSc in Human Resource Management
- CIPM membership
- HR certifications
- 5+ years of HR experience
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Self-driven with ability to represent the organization at events and meetings
- Living close to Onne is advantageous
Salary
₦300,000 – ₦350,000 monthly (based on experience)
Note: No relocation allowance provided.
