School Nurse

Cornerstone Montessori Schools is seeking a dedicated and qualified School Nurse to join their team. The role involves providing medical care, maintaining health records, and supporting the well-being of students and staff.

Responsibilities

• Provide first aid and emergency care to students and staff.
• Maintain accurate and confidential medical records for pupils and staff.
• Administer prescribed medication safely.
• Participate in school health screenings, health education, and wellness programs.
• Promote hygiene, infection prevention, and basic occupational health and safety practices.

Requirements

• Minimum of Registered Nurse (RN) qualification.
• Must be licensed and registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria (NMCN) with a valid practicing license.
• At least 2–3 years of nursing experience, preferably in a school, pediatric, clinic, hospital, or child-care setting.
• Good knowledge of first aid, basic life support (BLS), and emergency response.
• Understanding of common childhood illnesses, injuries, allergies, fever, asthma, and other health concerns.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to maintain health records and prepare basic reports.
• Must be caring, patient, observant, trustworthy, emotionally stable, and able to remain calm during emergencies.
