About the role
Area Sales Manager – Lumos
Drive solar energy product sales and lead territory teams across multiple locations in Nigeria. This role focuses on achieving customer acquisition, revenue targets, and team performance while expanding access to clean energy solutions.
Responsibilities
- Implement company sales strategy within assigned territory to achieve customer acquisition and repayment targets
- Lead and manage territory teams to deliver strong performance in sales, inventory management, customer onboarding, and collection
- Oversee end-to-end sales process: customer acquisition, product installation, activation, and service adoption
- Build high-performing teams through coaching, training, and capability development
- Coordinate area sales activities and develop/execute state business plans
- Set and communicate sales goals to Territory Managers and Lumos Community Partners
- Prepare and submit sales reports to VP Community Business
- Monitor daily and monthly sales figures against targets; recommend corrective actions
- Conduct sales promotion activities within budget
- Review sales operations, identify trends, and ensure service level standards
- Drive premium subscription adoption among new customers
- Formulate state-level sales strategies and policies to drive product adoption
- Ensure timely customer payments and minimize bad debts
- Support expansion of community partnerships aligned with targets
Requirements
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Management or related Social Sciences
- MBA is a plus
Experience:
- 8–10 years in Sales & Marketing
- Minimum 4 years at middle management level supervising/managing others
- Proven track record in sales/distributor account management
- Customer management experience
- Desirable: experience in telecom, microfinance, insurance, renewable energy, or FMCG
- Desirable: multi-level marketing experience
- Desirable: power/energy industry experience
