Logistics Officer

The Logistics Officer is responsible for coordinating the timely delivery of goods to customers and between company branches, ensuring proper documentation, handling, and compliance with company policies. This role involves managing vehicle and driver coordination, inventory movement, and maintaining accurate records of all logistics activities.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate the timely delivery of goods to customers and between company branches.
• Arrange transportation for goods and ensure appropriate vehicle assignment.
• Prepare, verify, and maintain waybills, delivery notes, transfer documents, and other logistics records.
• Supervise loading and unloading of goods and ensure accurate counting and checking.
• Coordinate with drivers, dispatch riders, and third-party transporters.
• Monitor logistics expenses and identify cost-saving opportunities.
• Work with inventory and sales teams to ensure accurate movement of goods.
• Ensure compliance with safety and transportation regulations.
• Prepare logistics reports and maintain accurate records.

Requirements

• Minimum of an OND/HND/Bachelor’s Degree in Logistics, Transport Management, Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
• Relevant experience in logistics, distribution, warehouse operations, or building materials/sanitary ware business is an advantage.
• Good organizational and coordination skills.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet delivery deadlines.
• Ability to maintain accurate records and documentation.
• Basic knowledge of inventory and stock movement procedures.
• Good knowledge of local routes and transportation systems.
• Ability to identify and report discrepancies promptly.
