Auto Maintenance Personnel

The Auto Maintenance Personnel is responsible for inspecting, maintaining, servicing, and repairing vehicles to ensure they remain safe, reliable, and in good working condition. The role involves carrying out routine vehicle maintenance, identifying mechanical faults, and ensuring vehicles are available for operational use.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct routine inspection and maintenance of company / hotel vehicles.
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical faults in vehicles.
  • Perform oil changes, brake checks, battery checks, tyre checks, and other servicing tasks.
  • Inspect engines, transmission systems, suspension, steering, and other vehicle components.
  • Replace worn-out or damaged vehicle parts as required.
  • Keep accurate records of vehicle maintenance, repairs, and servicing.
  • Ensure vehicles are roadworthy and safe before use.
  • Carry out preventive maintenance to reduce vehicle breakdowns and repair costs.
  • Respond promptly to vehicle breakdowns and mechanical problems.
  • Maintain tools, equipment, and the vehicle maintenance area in good condition.
  • Liaise with approved mechanics, workshops, and spare-parts suppliers when specialized repairs are required.
  • Ensure all maintenance activities comply with safety procedures and company standards.
  • Report major vehicle faults and maintenance requirements to management.
  • Maintain cleanliness and proper organization of the workshop and tools.

Requirements

  • SSCE / WAEC / NECO or equivalent qualification; technical or automotive training is an advantage.
  • Proven experience in automobile maintenance or mechanical repairs.
  • Good knowledge of vehicle engines, electrical systems, and mechanical components.
  • Ability to diagnose and solve vehicle problems effectively.
  • Ability to use basic automotive tools and diagnostic equipment.
  • Good attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Physically fit and able to perform hands-on maintenance duties.
  • A valid driver's licence is an added advantage.
