About the role
Group Financial Controller
Our client, a leading player in Nigeria's Power & Energy sector, is seeking an accomplished Group Financial Controller to join its finance leadership team. Reporting closely to the Group CFO, you will take full ownership of group-wide financial reporting, treasury management, budgeting, and tax compliance, playing a strategic role in strengthening financial discipline, managing risk, and driving overall corporate growth.
Responsibilities
- Oversee group-wide financial reporting, internal controls, audit preparation, and corporate governance.
- Lead corporate treasury operations, cash flow management, debt raise initiatives, and banking relationships.
- Drive budgeting, forecasting, financial modeling, and corporate performance management.
- Ensure statutory tax compliance, tax planning, and risk mitigation across all business units.
- Partner with executive leadership to evaluate financial risks, capital allocations, and strategic investments.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, or Economics; mandatory professional qualification (ICAN, ACCA, CFA, or equivalent).
- 8–10 years of cognate experience in core finance, financial management, or corporate control.
- Advanced, direct experience within the Gas, Power, Energy, or Utilities sectors.
- Proven track record in debt financing, large-scale cash flow strategy, complex tax management, and risk frameworks.
- Exceptional leadership, analytical, executive presentation, and strategic problem-solving skills.
